Are you traveling to Morocco for a few days with the intention of being able to take interesting photos? If so, the 3 days and 3 nights Marrakech and Essaouira Photo Tour in is for you!
About this tour
During these three days and three nights photo tour, we will walk together through the streets of the Souk in Marrakech and Essaouira where we will be able to take photos of locals practising almost every kind of crafts and some street portraits.
We will explore some famous locations in Marrakech like: The house of photography, The Jemaa el Fnaa Square, The Koranic school, The Koutoubia Mosque, the Tanneries, The El Badii Palace and Le Jardin de Majorelle.
In Essaouira we will walk through places like: The Old Port, Sqala de la Ville, Bab Qasbah, and the Old Medina of Essaouira.
Who is this tour for?
The Marrakech | Essaouira photo tour is ideal for beginners, intermediate and professional Photographers.
If you are a beginner in photography, you will learn the basics of Exposure, using your camera in “manual mode” with Iso, shutter speed and aperture.
If you are a professional Photographer, in that case we will be able to spend more time shooting.
If you already have experience in street photography you know how challenging it can be to approach people and photograph them on the street, especially in a culture as conservative as Morocco. Although Moroccans in general are very loving people, they are not very comfortable with cameras. So during this photo tour you will get to know a way to approach them.

Tuition: €1100 (Hotel and meals are NOT included) | €1500 (Hotel and meals are included)
When? Any time of the year.
Languages spoken? English, French, Spanish & Portuguese.
Maximum group size? 6 people.
This workshop lasts 3 days and 3 nights. For those who prefer the option with hotel and meals included, the hotel where we will be staying in Marrakech is "Riad Al Rimal", located near Jemaa el Fnaa square. And in Essaouira it will be “Hotel Dar L’Oussia”. If one of the hotels is booked up we will be staying in another similar hotel.
TOUR PROGRAMME:
1st day | Arrival in Marrakech, ideally before 1pm. I will be personally waiting for you at the airport. Welcome refreshments at our hotel, check- in followed by an introduction session about our programme. During this time we will be discussing about:
• EXPOSITION using manual mode on Street photography. (optional, depends on people skill)
• WHAT to look for when shooting on the streets in Morocco?
• COMPOSITION on street photography #1
After this, we will go for a walk through the streets of the Souk to put into practice what we saw in the first session. We will visit the House of photography and then we will wait for the sunset on a terrace overlooking the Jemma el Fnaa square from where we can photograph the most visited square in Africa.
- We will have dinner at the Hotel.
2nd day | We will have an early breakfast to be ready for going out at 8 am. During the morning we will visit The Koranic school and we will shoot some pictures around The Koutoubia Mosque. After lunch we will have a small talk about STREET PORTRAITS, how to approach people in Marrakech? So, after this session we will be back to the streets for a couple of the hours with the main goal to make some streets portraits. We need to be back in our hotel before 4pm in order to take the road to Essaouira at 5pm in a minivan. The trip is about 3hrs.
We will have dinner after out check-in, around 8.45pm.
3rd day | We will have an early shooting at the Port, as it is a good opportunity to photograph the fishermen as they arrive at the harbour. After that we will be back at the hotel to having breakfast. (If you prefer to rest, we can go to the port after our breakfast). During the morning we will be scrolling through the street of the Old Medina of Essaouira. At 5pm our transport we will be waiting for us to travel back to Marrakech.
After a time of rest at the hotel, we will have a time of photo presentation and a farewell dinner.
